Hello There!

Let me introduce myself: I am Carrie, the author and creator of Pooping Red Guy & Friends. I did not come up with this concept alone. My husband and my Aspie son were great inspirations in the naming of the page and the inspiration for the blog. You see, we have been through some really tough challenges in our respectively young lives, so our home is filled with silly things that make us laugh.

Laughter is the glue that holds us together. Love, too, but it helps when the three of us share a Monty Python meets Family Guy style of humor. I'm not saying that things are always one big Ministry of Silly Walks in our house, just that we cope with things like autism, financial ruin, mean-old politics, play ground bullies and brain damage with a good sense of humor.

This blog really started out as a way for me to get my family's mind off the craziness of life using our bizarre action figures. But I am who I am: an adult who could probably use some ADHD medication. I get side-tracked easily. So, this is less about action figures in compromising, funny poses and more of my silly walks around the internet, my family's adventures, and anything else that happens to catch my fancy at any given time.

I am a mother, wife, writer, artist and moderately interesting person. I work on many projects, own my own ebay business and educate my Asperger's son at home. And I cook. A lot. Basically, in this blog you get what I give you for which I make no apologies.

My husband has progressive Chiari Malformation, which is a rare condition where the brain says screw off and is pooping itself out of his skull. He's being repaired May 19th 2011. And my son has Asperger's Syndrome, so his brain says screw off, too, in a different way. That's not fixable. He's learning to meld to our archaic, arbitrary world in a methodical way.

Oh, and I have two cats: Kelda and Socks. Kelda is 13 and doesn't care about rules anymore. She's old, knows we aren't getting ridding of her and does what she wants. Socks love food. She also enjoys bringing frogs and birds into our house to play with, when she's not watching Youtube videos, napping or watching The Colbert Report.

And to my conservative family members, I hope you find this blog to incredibly cute and endearing to notice that I am a bleeding heart liberal (and lean towards *gasp* socialism-- remember the Bastille--, feminist, genius. And now you know why I rarely talk politics at family gatherings. (Cause I'm a genius and I love to listen)
